The drive from Zagreb to Plitvice passed through Turanj, a suburb of the city of Karlovac, Croatia. 

One of only two Croatian military museums open for the public, it houses the Museum of the Croatian War of Independence in a former backyard of a ruined Austro-Hungarian military base from 1991. The museum contains a collection of old or destroyed military equipment from the Croatian War of Independence
