About 30mins drive away from where I was staying in Perth as part of my Australia holiday in June 2011 was the city of Fremantle, located at the mouth of the Swan River.
This was a beautiful place to visit – I much preferred it to Perth, so I would spend any free time here. I ended up visiting it three times, once on my first day in Perth, again the next day (as it had a camera repair shop where I got my camera repaired after realising it was full of dust blobs!) and a final time as part of my trip to Rottnest Island.
Considering what an idyllic place I thought it was, I didn’t take anywhere near enough photos of it. I think this was because I thought it was a good place to relax and actually have my holiday, so didn’t end up taking many photos.
- Fremantle Town Hall
- The Fremantle Timegun fires at 1:00pm every day
- The view from the back of the Round House, Fremantle
- Fremantle Beach – People from Australia say this beach is disgusting and dirty due to Fremantle being a harbour town – but by English standards it would be one of our best!
- The Fremantle Time Ball. It drops at 1:00pm every day at the same time as the Time Gun, as a visible symbol for sailors to update their clocks
